About Me:

You've most likely been connected to this website through a learning evaluation that your child recently took part in as part of the Child Study Team evaluation (CST) process.  As a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant (LDTC) on the CST, typically I will include a list of academic recommendations in the summary portion of a learning evaluation report.  These recommendations offer suggestions for parents and teachers in regard to specific evaluation findings in order to help a student find greater academic success.

Based on years of writing these reports, I decided an additional way to reach out to parents and teachers with academic recommendations is by creating this website which contains a plethora of accessible resources; more than I could include in a summary of a report.

Every child learns in a unique way, and I firmly believe that all children should have access to education in a style that meets their needs.  The 'playing field' should be leveled for children with learning disabilities, and differentiated instruction needs to be practiced in every classroom.

I have a particular passion for the academic area of Reading.  In addition to being a Learning Disabilities Teacher Consultant, I am also a Reading Specialist.  I believe that all children can learn to read, but some children - especially children with dyslexia - will require more intense reading instruction using methods that have been proven to work in allowing them to become proficient readers.  All students deserve to be taught to read; not just the students it comes more easily to.

As a parent myself, I know how important your role in your child's education is.  Never underestimate the impact of your support and advocacy for your child's education.

I hope you find the resources within this website helpful.
