Touch Point Math
What is Touch Point Math?
My purpose of including information about Touch Point Math is to provide a very useful tool for adding and subtracting; especially for children who are struggling to learn the basic math facts. There is a whole program that goes with Touch Point Math, but for the purposes of this website, my reason for introducing it is to help provide a visualization tool to conduct basic math skills for students who struggle with automaticity with basic math facts.
Once your child learns to apply and use dots in the correct place on the digit, it will eventually become an automatic skill in which he will not need to actually draw the dots any more, because these dots will be retrieved visual recall. However, do not rush to omit the use of the drawn on touch points.
I have used this with many students over the years, and it really makes a difference when 'counting on' or 'counting backwards.'

Touch Point Apps:
Touching/Counting Patterns Lite teaches single digit number values using the one-of-a-kind multisensory TouchMath system -- the ONLY math program that uses the actual numeral as a manipulative. Each numeral from 1 through 9 has TouchPoints corresponding to the digit's value.
